Rain. The rain came down heavily, like a thick sheet upon the Royal woodlands. It wasn't the gentle kind of rain either - it was the stinging kind that hurt to walk through. Most animals have taken shelter by this point, but someone was foolish enough to stroll through the stinging downpour. A dog, strong in body and mind, walked through the rain as if it was a sunny day. The only difference was his fur was soaked through. It was warm rain fortunately, and because summer was approaching, the male knew that he would dry quickly once the sun came out again.
Walking through one of the few clearings in the deep woods, Skylar sighed contentedly. How he loved the rain. The pounding of the water against his back often releived his tense muscles, and it did so now. Chocolate eyes were peaceful, though deep inside burned an excitement; the excitement of spring. Rebirth, renewal, new life coming into the world. Sure, it would seem this German Shepherd was alone, but in his mind the trees and grass kept him company, all of them gladly enjoying the rain while others may be cursing it.
In his soul, however, Skylar knew he was lonely. He wanted to start a family, wanted to raise pups with a loving mate. It was the goal of most animals, in fact, to continue their bloodlines, and to have others by their side through thick and thin. It was natural for him to feel this way, but the feeling was shoved aside. That wasn't going to happen anytime soon, so he aught not dwell on it.
Lowering his haunches, the handsome, yet soaked, male sat in the center of the clearing, staring off into space. Rarely did Skylar take anything for granted, and this certainly was no exception. He saw beauty in the rain, in the drenched woods. There was beauty everywhere, and he appreciated it.
The rain began to lighten up, and Skylar looked to the sky. The clouds were breaking apart, revealing bits of the afternoon sky. There would be enough sun for the male to dry off. Excellent. Pleased, Skylar watched the clouds as they slowly drifted their seperate ways, soon leaving the German Shepherd and the sun to spend their time together. Flattening his ears in pleasure, Skylar basked in the sun, allowing his soaked fur to slowly begin to dry.
